Valentine's Day Ideas. What On Your Mind? PART 7 : Valentines Gift Giving Guide and Tips
Friday, February 10, 2012 @ 6:58 PM
Here Another POST bout Gift again. Do remind Every lovers Out there. Remember this.=] There are certainly a number of do’s and don’ts when it comes to Valentines Day gifts. Remember, Valentines Day is about showing your love – gifts don’t have to be expensive in order to do that. A simple gift or even a thoughtful act goes a long way to showing your seetheart how much you care. Here are a few tips and ideas when considering what to give the person in your life on Valentines day.
Valentines Gift Tips
1. Unless she has explicitly stated that she needs one, never give your wife or girlfriend a household appliance or anything related to housework. Not only is this an unromantic gesture, it also tends to make her think that what you want to say is that she needs to do more cleaning.
2. Find out what she really likes. Be on the alert for any hints she may be dropping about what she wants to receive from you for Valentine’s Day, or if there’s a restaurant she wants to try or someplace she’d like to check out. She’ll love the fact that you paid attention to what she was saying.
3. With that in mind, make sure that you never ask outright what she wants for Valentine’s Day. That may paint you as an insensitive creep who has no idea what she likes and hasn’t been paying attention to her the entire time you’re together. As in the previous tip, recognize hints and listen to what she says she likes when you two are just talking.
4. Tempted to just get her a big stuffed toy and pink and red heart-shaped balloons? You might want to rethink that plan. Remember that you’re not a teenage boy anymore and you’re certainly not dealing with a teenage girl. You don’t have to get her jewelry and lingerie, but something more age-appropriate will work better than cutesy gifts.
5. Did you get her a gift or made plans that she absolutely loved last year? Don’t think that you can give or do the same thing this year. She might still love it, of course, but it’s a sign that you’re unimaginative and that you just got too lazy to think of something different this time around.
6. Men think that women are only impressed by expensive gifts. It’s not the cost of the item that women love, but the fact that you obviously put some effort into planning and thinking of a gift you know she’ll love. If you don’t want to go broke on Valentine’s day, make sure that you stick to a budget and not get tempted to splurge on a gift.
7. If you’re planning to give her a card along with your gift, be sure to sign it with more than just your name. Expecting the card alone to do the job of expressing your feelings just won’t cut it. It certainly wouldn’t hurt you to jot down a few sweet words of your own on the card.
8. Take her personality and preferences into consideration. If she’s not into the whole flowers-chocolates-jewelry-candlelit dinner thing, don’t force them on her just to fit the usual image of a Valentine date. Give her something you know she will truly enjoy, even if they’re not the traditional Valentine’s day gifts and activities..

Valentine's Day Ideas. What On Your Mind? PART 6 : Planning Your Valentine's Day Dinner
Thursday, February 9, 2012 @ 6:53 PM

1. Are you cooking your romantic meal at home? Make sure that you have a menu planned and that you shop for ingredients before hand. You don't want to rush through cooking or run back to the store if you'd forgotten something. The important thing is to be prepared, and also to get a bit of cooking practice before the real thing.
2. Know her food preferences. You don't want your romantic Valentine dinner to end with her in the bathroom or in the hospital. Make sure to consider her allergies before planning your menu, and also be ready with alternatives if she has other meal preferences; for example, she could be avoiding meat or steering clear of food items with too much salt.
3. Are you taking her out to dinner instead? Do your research and see which restaurants are considered the best and most romantic. If some restaurants are too popular with people, you might want to get off the beaten track and discover a restaurant that can be considered a delicious secret in your area.
4. Make reservations well ahead of time; three or two days before V-Day is certainly a bad idea. Every other couple will have the same idea as you on Valentine's day, especially if there's this one fantastic bar or restaurant that's perfect for a romantic night out, so be sure that you snag your own spot ahead of everyone else.

Valentine's Day Ideas. What On Your Mind? PART 4 : Sweet, Thoughtful Valentines Gifts That Show How Much You Care:
Tuesday, February 7, 2012 @ 6:36 PM

1. Make a list of why you love her, or perhaps a list of your favorite things about her. Don't just write down the standard old "You're nice" "You're pretty". Really think about the specific things she does that really make you smile. You can give this one by itself or put it in with the bouquet of flowers you're buying her or on the breakfast tray you're delivering to her in bed.
2. Create a scrapbook featuring pictures and souvenirs from all the trips that you two have taken together. Leave several pages in the back to make room for future holidays that you two have been planning to go on. It's a good way to say that you're planning to be with her for a long time and see the world with her, too.
3. Prepare a box filled with nothing but her favorite things. The box doesn't have to be big, and the contents don't need to be expensive. The box could contain gift cards to her favorite shops, packages of her favorite sweets, a cookbook featuring her favorite cuisine, small bottles of scented massage oils, a card or a letter from you--let your imagination fly.
4. Make your own gift cards. You can just make them out of plain paper or use colored board paper, and write down what the 'cards' can be used for. The cards can be used for an hour-long massage at home, a romantic comedy movie marathon, or dinner every week at her favorite restaurant. Write down that the cards a valid for a lifetime.
5. Are you willing to get crafty? You can try making some paper flowers, creating a whole bouquet for her. Sure it doesn't seem as fancy as real, fresh flowers, but you can make the paper flowers more special by writing sweet notes to her before folding the paper into flowers.
6. Here's another idea similar to the scrapbook concept. Write down your love story and include some of the best memories you've shared since you became a couple. Make sure to include some pictures as well as little notes or doodles just to spruce up the scrapbook. Finish it off with what you're looking forward to in the future and your life together.
7. Get her one of those picture frames with a moving display. Load it up with the cutest pictures of the two of you, and make sure to intersperse the pictures with scans of any handwritten notes the two of you have exchanged, or create graphics to showcase your messages in a creative way.
